Dollie was seen being abandoned outside of a convenient store on the outskirts of Houston when CTDR was contacted for help. Without hesitation, Dollie was rescued and placed immediately into foster care where she was taken to the vet for evaluation. It was discovered that she tested positive for heart worms and also most likely suffered a previous injury that left her back arched. CTDR went in to action and the preparation for heart worm treatment began. Dollie was a lifeless, emotionless, lost, scared pup at the time, but after being in foster care and getting the attention she so desperately needed, her true personality has come out. Dollie has a very sweet disposition. She loves to be with her human. She is good with meeting new people and gets along well with the dog in the house. She is not so good with the cats and they are not fond of her at all. Dollie is crate and potty trained and excellent with a doggie door. She loves rides in the car and sleeping in the “big bed” where she is a bed hog. She uses her snout to get attention and is relentless until acknowledged. She is also a “sun goddess” on good weather days. Her big, brown eyes will melt your heart. Dollie has recently completed heartworm treatment and will need to be on heartworm prevention for the rest of her life. She has had all of her vaccinations. Due to her previous back issues, her hind legs are somewhat weak causing her to be a bit spastic but she doesn’t let that stop her. Dollie should never be allowed to jump on and off furniture or go up and down stairs unless she is carried.
