UPDATE:

My name is Ralphie and I am ready to go to my forever home.  I know my forever person is out there just waiting to come and take me home with them!  Could it be YOU?

I was found wandering the streets of San Antonio late one night.  A very nice person found me and tried to locate my family but in spite of their best efforts, I ended up with the good folks at Central Texas Dachshund Rescue.  They took me to the vet, who removed a tumor and started me on a treatment plan to kill those nasty heartworms.   Thanks to my foster mom I have completed my treatment and I’m patiently waiting for you to come and get me!

Just between you and me, I think my two foster brothers are a little jealous of all the attention my foster Mom gives me.  The vet estimates me to be about 9 years old, but really, I’m a very young 9-year-old, happy and energetic. I’ve taken up the task of keeping the squirrels away from the bird feeders in our backyard!  I sleep in a crate at night in my foster Mom’s room, I love my chew toys, and I like cuddling up next to Mom when she’s relaxing in her recliner.

What a handsome boy Ralphie is.  This senior gentleman was found walking the streets of San Antonio late at night.  The finder tried local neighborhood apps and posted signs hoping his owners would come forward.  When no one came for Ralphie, the finder reached out to some local Rescue groups but no one would take this sweet boy! CTDR agreed to take Ralphie and we got him started on his vetting process.  He does have a large tumor on his hind end that will be removed the 2nd of August so that he can have a normal life. Sadly, he also tested positve for those nasty heartworms and will have to undergo treatment before he can be adopted.  If interested in giving Ralphie his forever home, please complete an application at www.ctdr.org.
