GUS is a Strikingly Handsome, short haired, Two-toned Chocolate Dapple pup! He is about 4 years old, and so very sweet! Gus has been neutered, is up to date on his shots and heartworm negative. He has already been micro chipped and ready for his forever home. He is kind of timid when meeting people and takes a little bit to warm up. This is probably due to the fact that he has just lost his home and his family, and is kind of confused. Gus is very gentle and calm and quiet. Once he gets to know you a little bit, he is your doting partner! He will shadow you wherever you go in the house! He just loves his Peeps, and will whimper a bit if he can't find you! When he feels comfortable with you, he is quick to roll over and ask for some tummy rubs! Gus is a gentle kisser, and will give you a few kisses, but won't drowned you in slobber! Those Doxie Ears are just made for scratching and Gus will sit still and just let you scratch his ears all day long if you have the time!

Gus is very well mannered, he comes when called and seems to be extremely house trained! No accidents from this guy in the house! He holds it until you offer to go outside, and if you don't offer, he goes and sits by the front door, and whimpers! He LOVES to ride in the Backseat of the car! Doesn't call "SHOTGUN" for the front seat or fight you for the keys! He prefers the backseat, and lets you be the Chauffer! Gus is not a big barker! In fact he has only barked once, and that was outside! He has not chased the neighbor cats, squirrels or birds! His leash manners are impeccable! Gus even Potties on Command!

Inside the house, Gus likes to play with his own toys, and likes to de-stuff his Stuffies! But he doesn't touch what he has not been given! So your shoes, toilet paper rolls and Unmentionables are safe on the floor with Gus in the house! His favorite games seems to be tug of war, and he even lets me win sometimes! Gus is very good with the other dogs in the house. He is not a big "player" type dog that runs and chases and rolls around with other dogs. He just seems to like being in their company and being around them. This is a Super Smart little Man! I showed him the steps up to my big bed twice, and he mastered them! He jumped down once, and I showed him, "No Gus, we use the stairs to come down too!" Since then, after being shown once, he has mastered coming down the stairs too! That is important to protect his back! He sleeps quietly beside you, all through the night, and doesn't get up until told it is time to get up. Then he heads for the door to go outside to do his business. This is a well mannered little man! He knows, "sit", and "stay", and "come" and the impressive, "Go Potty Gus"! When you come home, he greets you at the door with a wagging tail, and a big ol' grin and just dances around doing his Happy Dance!

Gus reportedly has had some issues with some younger children in his previous life, so we are looking for a home for him, that doesn't have children. Gus would do great with someone that would love to have a doting, intelligent, extremely, strikingly handsome pup in their life! Gus would be a great dog for an apartment or a single person, or a home where he would be an only dog, or has another dog or two, for him to keep company with. He would love someone who would give him some toys of his own to toss in the air, to play tug-of-war with him, to scratch his belly and his ears, and to just love him with all of their heart. He is prepared to give his entire heart to you, to be your loyal companion and partner, to stay by your side in your adventures, to celebrate with you in good times and to comfort you in the hard times. Gus asks for so little in life and offers his entire being in return. Do you have a little room and a little love to share with Gus???
