Pippin is a sweet energetic little girl.  When I picked her up from boarding, she got in my car and immediately got comfortable in the passenger seat. She laid down and just hung out for the short trip home.  She looked at me with her sweet little eyes and I knew she was a darling little doxie who just didn't get a fair shot at a good home. Once she got to my house, she checked everything out and was pretty uncertain about what was going on. After giving the house a thorough inspection, she began to feel at ease and was able to just relax with me & my other doxie. Pippin didn't seem to care if she was under the covers or not like other doxies, I just think she was happy to be in a warm and safe environment. Pippin seemed a bit thin when I got her but she enjoyed the food and ate every bit she could. I believe that she did gain a few pounds in the following couple of weeks. She loves treats and bones.  I never noticed that she chewed things she shouldn't or tore anything up around the house. At night, she would either sleep with me on my bed or she would be just as happy sleeping on the couch.  Many nights she wanted to do both. Pippin does need some extra help with her house-training.  For the most part, she's great about it. She does know to go to the door to go outside but sometimes I think she forgets why she went out there in the first place. Someone who can give her the extra attention and go outside with her to praise her on her actions outside will help. Don't let this deter anyone from this bundle of sweetness though. She's got the hang of it for the most part. Pippin is truly a lovely doxie. She's energetic and playful and loves to hang out with her people. I think she would enjoy being in a home with another dog and/or cat who would be willing to play with her.
